from Orlando Health and Stop the Bleed
We hope never to be involved in a mass casualty event, but hope may not be enough to save somebody’s life. A new national survey by Orlando Health found most Americans feel unprepared to aid victims of such an event. Fewer than one-half could administer first aid or apply a tourniquet. Following the Pulse Nightclub mass shooting in 2016, Orlando Health partnered with Stop the Bleed to offer training in schools, businesses and organizations that focuses on three simple yet critical skills—applying pressure, packing a wound and using a tourniquet. It doesn’t have to be a mass casualty event. It can be your opportunity to save just one person’s life. For information go to StoptheBleed.org.
