There are dozens of smartphone apps dealing with health and diet. Allow me to tell you about one of the latest and how it works. University of Illinois researchers developed a weight management program that helps individuals plan meals with support from a registered dietitian. They note that many apps help you count calories and while that may help you lose weight, it may also cut protein. That may cause loss of muscle and bone mass. That’s why the team developed an interactive feature called MealPlot. It works by entering the food you want to eat into a chart that plots the fiber and protein content. MealPlot is freely available to the public and anyone can register for an account. However, for greater benefit you should work with a dietitian.
