Do you believe in reincarnation? No matter your answer, a new study from the University of Virginia School of Medicine may intrigue you. Researchers analyzed more than sixteen hundred reports of purported reincarnation collected over decades. Among their findings was a shorter time between death and “rebirth” on average when the prior person died unexpectedly. That correlation was strongest among families that did not believe in reincarnation. Authors of the study say it is the largest systematic review of reported past-life memories and while individual cases can leave room for different interpretations, patterns across a larger number of cases are much harder to challenge.
