GRAPE BENEFITS

By February 28, 2025No Comments

Daily consumption of grapes may benefit the heart, kidneys, skin, eye and gastrointestinal health. A closer look at long-term grape consumption suggests genetic changes that may maintain muscle mass and function. Western New England University researchers reported their findings in the journal Foods--that genes associated with lean muscle mass increased while genes linked to muscle degeneration, such as age-related muscle loss, were reduced. Authors say the study provides compelling evidence that grapes have the potential to enhance muscle health at the genetic level rather than direct chemical interactions. The muscle benefits were measured from two servings of grapes per day in both men and women.
