COMBINED RISKS

By November 30, 2025No Comments

It’s already known smoking marijuana may increase risk of heart problems and that eating a lot of highly processed foods may also raise the risk. New research suggests the combination of smoking cannabis and eating a diet of highly processed foods further raises cardiac risks by weakening the immune system. University of South Florida researchers used state-of-the-art technology to measure effects of cannabis smoke in the heart, spleen, lungs and brain. The effects were detected within two hours. Authors say cannabis amplifies that chronic inflammation.
