DON’T BLAME EGGS

By July 30, 2025No Comments

Eggs have long been blamed for a role in cardiovascular disease, but a new study from the University of South Australia comes to the defense of eggs in our diet. Researchers acknowledge that eggs are high in cholesterol, but low in saturated fat. The study, in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, examined the effects of dietary cholesterol and saturated fats and found that eating two eggs a day as part of a high cholesterol but low saturated fat diet can actually reduce levels of LDL, the bad kind of cholesterol, and lower risk of heart disease. Researchers say when it comes to a cooked breakfast, its not the eggs you should worry about, it’s the extra serving of bacon or sausage that is more likely to impact your heart health.
