GET WITH IT, GRANDPARENTS!

By November 30, 2024No Comments

As a group, grandparents have been slow to adopt technology including the internet. A new study of adults fifty and older across twenty-three countries, including the United States, revealed internet use is linked to better mental health. Researchers in Hong Kong wrote in the journal Nature Human Behavior those who use the internet reported fewer symptoms of depression and higher life satisfaction along with better self-reported health. The data suggests more frequent internet use for a variety of services was correlated with improved mental health and that the internet may be a solution for tackling increasing mental health challenges among older people, especially in areas where mental health services may not be readily available.
