Mindfulness in the workplace may ease stress and burnout. Mindfulness is the ability to be able to focus on the present and not let your mind drift off to think about something else, past or future. It is a simple concept that has become more important in the digital workplace where technologies like e-mail, instant messaging and mobile devices have been shown to add employee worry about missing out or keeping up with a quickly evolving environment. Authors of the article in the journal PLOS ONE found employees who are more mindful created confidence in dealing with all aspects—good and bad—of the digital workplace. They say helping employees foster mindful awareness when working could really help overall well-being
