NO SUCH THING AS TOO HAPPY

By October 29, 2025No Comments

How does happiness relate to health? Data from more than one hundred countries was analyzed to determine if happiness could be linked to lower risk of non-communicable diseases. The study, published in Frontiers in Medicine, measured happiness on a scale of one to ten. Once that threshold was surpassed increases in a country’s collective happiness was linked to gradual reductions in the mortality rate from diseases such as heart disease, cancer and diabetes. Addressing those chronic diseases, the authors say, may help the happiness score. Another conclusion from the data—that there is probably no such thing as too happy..
