A study in JAMA Network Open suggests that older cancer patients may also be struggling with other health issues and they may not be able to tolerate standard aggressive chemotherapy treatment. Researchers at the University of Rochester Medical Center say lowering the dose and adjusting the chemo schedule may make life better for older adults with cancer. Many factors are involved in choosing the correct chemotherapy regimen that requires medical expertise and consultation, Yet, it may be a beneficial conversation older cancer patients and their caregivers to have with their healthcare providers.
