WILD BLUEBERRIES

By January 30, 2026No Comments

Wild blueberries for whole-body health! An expert review of a dozen human trials links the tiny, tart wild blueberries to improved cardiometabolic health, such as blood vessel function, blood pressure, cholesterol, triglycerides and blood sugar. Why wild blueberries? They contain two to four times the level of antioxidants helping to combat inflammation compared to cultivated blueberries. The review, published in the journal Critical Reviews in Food Science and Nutrition, found the most consistent finding is improved blood vessel functioning. That, in turn, may be related to studies in older adults suggesting sharper thinking and memory after just a single serving of wild blueberries.
