WORK CHANGES

By May 5, 2024No Comments

The work style of sitting at a desk for hours has long been considered harmful to health. But new findings from the Mayo Clinic suggest a few significant changes in how we work can be beneficial to health and improve cognitive performance. Researchers refer to an active style that reduces workstation sedentary time. Features include a walking pad, bike, stepper and/or a standing desk. Some or all of these things can improve cognitive health without reducing job performance. The research found improved reasoning scores when standing and walking compared to just sitting. The study, published in the Journal of the American Heart Association, suggests sedentary is the new smoking when it comes to our heart health.
